A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24
No one can walk with us in everything that we face. We may want to protect those around us whether it be our children or our families but only one can walk beside us and never leave us and is faithful to keep us no matter the situation. That one is God.
At times we keep God at a distance we push him away because we don’t want to be vulnerable or open to face what’s in us or with us but no matter how much we push him away he’s always with us walking beside us. He still keeps his eyes on us even when we reject him he’s faithful and waiting for an invitation into who we are. Just think about Peter and how he rejected Christ but he never rejected Peter back he waited patiently for Peter to realize what he was trying to show him. Sometimes God is patiently waiting for us to see that we need him and that he’s the only answer. Even When mankind rejected him he still gave his life on the cross for us. The Bible says in Psalms 139:7-12
7 Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
8 If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
9 If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and the light about me be night,”
12 even the darkness is not dark to you;
the night is bright as the day,
for darkness is as light with you.
If you feel alone or you feel as though you are facing something too high to climb let God in. Just like the poem of the footprints in the sand when we are tired he carries us. If you have a loved one going through heartache or trauma know he loves them even more than you do and he will help them or give you the strength to endure. We must give ourselves and our situations over to God and let him carry them. We have to start leaning on God and trusting him again.
I remember I went through some pretty hard times on my job in the beginning. It was hurtful and painful at times and I felt so alone the things happening there were awful and unfair and no one could go with me no one could fix it for me. Nothing I did seemed to change things. However, I remember one day I was sitting in the parking lot praying and crying before my shift, and I heard God say you are not alone you go nowhere where I don’t go. Every place you go I go first! I am beside you and behind you and before you and I will be with you. There is a verse in the bible that says Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Not only was he with me and did he carry me through all of that he turned the whole situation around for my good. Every plan that was attempted to be worked against me happened to them. Claim this pray this believe this for you and for your household this is the promise to his people he is for us! May God be with you this week and may he go before you in all you do. Invite him in don’t push him away. Let him be a part of your life share with him your concerns your worries and let him help you through. He cares about you and all you are facing. I pray that God reveals himself to you in a new way this week and that you see his goodness in the days to come.
