Perfection?

A lot of times we can get caught up in appearances and trying to be perfect. We turn our walk with Christ into something it’s not meant to be. No one is perfect but a lot of times we pretend that we are by hiding anything we may go through from others and making people feel less than if they may go through something or should something unfortunate happen to them. We gauge our worth and the worth of others based on circumstances we or others may find ourselves in. The bible said we will go through adversaries. Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4

He didn’t say we wouldn’t go through things he just promised to take us through. We are on a journey much like the one that the Israelites were on in the desert. We are on a journey to perfection and wholeness in Christ. It would be so easy to stop at salvation. However, he wants more for us we can’t just step out of Egypt and stop we must go on as the Bible says towards the mark of the high calling. 12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:12-14

Instead of lifting one another up, we tend to put on airs and pretend we are better than each other. I never go through anything I’m better than you we shouldn’t let people put that mindset on us. Yes, things are easier at times with God, and we can learn to remain in him and in his mind so that things don’t overtake us when we go through things but at times we do go through. We should be helping each other holding one another up. The Bible says he tests our heart and our faith.

The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, But the Lord tests the hearts Proverbs 17:3.

“Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. Isaiah 48:10

I’m going on as I have said before, I’m crossing the desert, I’m headed to all he has for me no matter what it takes. I’m not satisfied with man’s narrow view of God. HE’S SO BIG. Even bigger than I can comprehend. I don’t claim to have it all figured out I just know he doesn’t fit in the little box that religion is trying to keep him in. I’m free outside of the box, I’m joyful outside the box, I’m growing outside of the box, I’m being blessed outside of the box. God is extending an invitation today to crossover from death into life. Every day he offers this all you have to do is say yes God take me on this journey I want to know you. I receive you in my heart as my Lord and Savior.

I used to know a preacher who said there are no losses in the kingdom of God. I didn’t understand this then, but I do now. We don’t lose in God no matter what anyone says or how they spin it. They try to tell you that you did something wrong and that is why you are facing this. I would say you did something right. You are on your way he is molding you. The potter and the clay, sometimes you have to break and remold a piece to get it just right. The beauty is in the process. Everything is gained because everything that you go through adds to your life in some way. If you are walking with Christ, he is always looking to take you further. Every situation is a steppingstone. Not everyone is really pursuing God for all that he has not everyone is racing towards the mark of the high calling as the scripture says. They are happy where they are and complacent. They don’t want to change or move forward so, of course, it is easy to judge you from the sidelines they are staying still in one place. Life and relationship with God are a learning process through trial and error. Does it mean you will always be going through hard times no. Some things are just going to happen they are inevitable because of the world we live in. I just always look for what I have to gain from it. Don’t be so hard on yourself keep going keep pressing towards the mark! Every day is a new day with new possibilities, and everything really is for our good. As I heard Beth Moore say one time God isn’t hiding behind a bush somewhere waiting for you to mess up so he can jump out and yell at you. He’s on your side he’s invested in you. He wants you to make it. Don’t let anyone make you feel less than because you don’t have everything figured out. The more you let go of trying to figure it out and just be in the moment with God and just love on him the more you seem to see God in your circumstance. Remember God is rooting for you! Give him time this week and let him show you.
