Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” 10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested. 1 Chronicles 4:10
At times we find ourselves at a crossroad. Knowing we don’t quite belong where we are but not quite sure where we are to go. Sometimes God even starts to push us out by uncomfortable circumstances, or he literally brings a thing to an end whether we are ready or not. When the children of Israel first left Egypt they were angry with Moses. They had to leave everything they knew and were familiar with to wander a desert for 40 years eating the same thing over and over. It’s real popular right now to say I’m living the same day over and over in today’s society because our jobs can be repetitive and often times unsatisfying. However sometimes God has to take us the long way around to teach us something in the process and prepare us for the promise. It takes that sometimes to work things out of us that wouldn’t prosper us in the long run.
We can find ourselves living below what God has for us or not living in the fullness of his promises and his blessing too afraid or to set it our ways to cross the desert and leave what we know. However, I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to stay in that place. That God can enlarge your territory if you only ask him. Ask him to lead you into that land of promise he has for you. He will never leave you without. If he cares for the sparrow and dresses the lilies, he won’t leave you without you are his beloved. The Bible says ask, seek, and knock.
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Mathew 7:7-11
It also says that we are well able to take the land whatever your land of promise is you are seeking you are well able. It might be a new job, having a child, starting a ministry, starting a business, or going back to school. Just start taking steps towards it. He’s asking us to be water walkers in this hour. Step out, step out, step out! He will not let you fall he will not leave you without. He will always be there to catch you. I envy people with this courage at times to just jump. I’m learning more and more to just go for it. I told a friend of mine last week who was going through something that it was going to be okay in an area we were praying for because I believe we are that people that God is yet dwelling with. We are that generation set aside a people of great faith his remanent. We are those people who have been promised a thing, but we don’t take him up on all he has to offer.
1 After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: 2 “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory. 5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Joshua 1:1-6.
When I read this, I thought it’s just like this in an instant what you knew can pass away in this case Moses. Then in the same breath he is saying to crossover into something new. They had to crossover the Jordan with someone new Joshua in order to reach their promise. However, he promised as he was with Moses, he would be with them. That same God is our God, and that promise is still our promise. I believe this is symbolic of the promise we have in Jesus. If we will crossover from religion into supernatural faith and belief in Jesus Christ, nothing can stop us. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31
If you are facing a life change or something that looks like it is seeking to devour you just know that God has already made a way of escape for you. Ask him to enlarge your territories in this hour that you may cross over into something new. Don’t put limits on yourself or your circumstances God is limitless and anything is possible.
